Inside A Modern Colonial That’s Elegant From Its Courtyard To Tennis Court
Architect Bobby McAlpine was commissioned to design a three-story, modern Colonial that is both bold and beautiful on this California property. From a distance the white-brick house seems right at home amid the neighborhood’s older dwellings, but look closer and it’s clear there’s something else afoot. Oversize windows in the sleek style of 1920s industrial factories, romantic balconies, peaked roofs, and a modern steel beam that anchors the gate to the courtyard create a poetic balance that adds a bit of modernity.
