Traditional Home 2021

Dallas Home Blends Comfort and Style

The home's architecture updates a classic aesthetic to suit a young couple and their tastes. One likes modern architecture, clean lines, and big views; whereas the other is drawn to traditional architecture.

To please them both, Blume Architecture took cues from an English architectural base. Using ideas from an old English cottage that is mostly symmetrical, with a high-pitched roof, they stripped away the details for a more modern look. But kept the texture— to keep the house from feeling too cold. The house is nestled into its environment, it looks like a home passed down for generations.

"What I love most is it's a reflection of our family—of our personalities, this house feels like our house" says the owner.
