The piece is detailed with the original Lempereur & Bernard, L & B Registered Trademark crest, as well as the French, “Rechaud Belge,” which translates to Belgian Stove. The company, “Anonymous Society & Institutions Lempereur Bernard,” was established in France in 1868 and primarily manufactured a Mueseler type miner’s lamp. The company had an office in Paris with primary production in Liege, Belgium. Lempereur & Bernard converted into a rolling mill and copper foundry during WWI and ceased operation in 1950.
